Gatorback Club NASCAR Trip Winner Says Sonoma is “Electric”

Joe Kovac, this year’s Gatorback Club NASCAR drawing winner, is an old pro when it comes to attending live races. But his past experiences didn’t prepare him for how intense his prize race was going to be.

“We were so close,” says Joe, who chose to attend the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma on June 26, 2011. “When they started the engines and you heard the rumble of pure horsepower, the whole place was electric.”

Before the Race, Joe and his wife got on stage to present the Goodyear Engineered Products Fastest Lap award to Sprint Cup driver Greg Biffle, which resulted in a “Hollywood” moment. “I met John Ratzenberger [the “Cheers” and “Toy Story” star was master of ceremonies for the race], and there were 12 or 15 cameras in my face. It was like I was on the red carpet.”

All through the race, Joe enjoyed the VIP experience afforded by being a guest of the Gatorback Club. “With my pass, I was wandering around the garage, around the track, in the pits – wherever I wanted to go.”

Gatorback Club members earn an entry into the NASCAR drawing every time they redeem 10,000 points. Joe is very active in the club and earned three entries overall. Installers earn points from Goodyear Gatorback Poly-V belts, V-belts, timing belts, timing belt kits, tensioners and air springs.

Joe, owner of Kovac Automotive in Davie, Fla., has a message for other Club members: “Everybody, sell more Gatorback belts and hoses. It’s well worth it. It was a trip I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
