Goodyear Gatorback™ Poly-V Belt

Goodyear Gatorback™ Poly-V Belt

No belt is built to last like Gatorback™. A backing composed of tough, coated fabric provides twice the abrasion resistance of standard belts. It's oil and heat resistant, too. We call Gatorback “The Quiet Belt” because its diagonal Helicog™ teeth cancel the noise of pulley contact from one offset cog to another. The result is a reduction in operating noise up to 15 decibels.

1. Strong, stretch-resistant tension member – Specially treated to maintain tension and resist stretch on both locked center drives and spring tension systems.
2. Tough synthetic rubber ribs – Fiber-reinforced Wingprene® rubber helical cogged ribs offer maximum cord support and wear resistance for unsurpassed performance in high horsepower applications.
3. Oil/abrasion-resistant backing – The backing on every Goodyear Gatorback Poly-V belt is a tough, coated fabric material. It's impregnated with Wingprene® oil-resistant rubber for heat and oil resistance to stand up to the friction needed to drive flat pulleys.

So tough, they eat up the competition. When oil, heat and abrasion combine to weaken most standard V-belts, Goodyear Gatorback V-belts are still going strong. Gatorback V-belts outlast the nearest competitor by nearly 60 percent. They feature the same construction and Helicog™ tooth design of Gatorback Poly-V belts, ensuring added strength, flexibility, oil/abrasion resistance and quiet operation.

Goodyear Timing Belts

Goodyear Timing Belts

Goodyear Timing Belts are designed to deliver precise timing over a long service life in demanding automotive applications. The teeth are molded, not cut, for precision tolerances and a perfect mesh with pulley grooves. All materials are selected to assure consistent performance and durability in the hot, oily environments of today's crowded engine compartments.

  1. Precision-molded teeth
  2. Tough, synthetic facing for long belt and pulley life
  3. Dimensionally stable cords for strength and precision
  4. Oil-resistant backing for long-lasting protection
Goodyear Engineered Products Stretch Belt

Goodyear Engineered Products Stretch Belt

Stretch Belt, a self-tensioning belt, incorporates low modulus and high elongation technologies that allow the belt to maintain proper belt tension in the absence of an automatic tensioner. Stretch Belts use EPDM compounds and a polyamide tensile cord that elongates and stretches for installation then recovers to maintain proper tension. Stretch Belts are slightly shorter than fit length so that when installed, they automatically tension and maintain that tension over the life of the belt.

Stretch Belts are differentiated by part numbers. The functional Poly-V part number that includes the number of ribs and length also has an “S” suffix, indicating Goodyear Engineered Stretch Belt.

Accu-DRIVE® Tensioners

Accu-DRIVE® Tensioners

Goodyear Accu-DRIVE® automatic belt tensioners meet or exceed O.E. specifications for all major car manufacturers. The belt remains at nearly constant tension throughout the entire operating range. Automatic tensioners generally do not require additional servicing and will self-adjust for normal belt elongation.

  1. SPRING: Maintains constant belt tension throughout the operating range.
  2. ARM: Connects spring to idler pulley while maintaining proper alignment.
  3. INSERT BEARING: Provides angular alignment for proper belt tracking.
  4. DAMPING ELEMENT (SPRING SUPPORT): Provides additional tensioner damping and load balancing.
  5. SPRING HOUSING/SPINDLE: Anchors spring. Arm pivots around the spindle.
  6. IDLER PULLEY: Pulley surface is grooved, flat or crowned.
  7. PULLEY BOLT: Allows service replacement of pulley and means for lifting arm.
  8. DUST SHIELD: Prevents high-pressure spray, foreign material or installation tools from damaging the bearing seal.
  9. FRONT PLATE: Holds tensioner together.
  10. THRUST WASHER: Provides thrust wear surface.
Goodyear Air Springs

Goodyear Air Springs

We introduced the air spring in 1957 and we've been the leader ever since. Goodyear Super-Cushion® air springs are designed for durability, performance and value. They operate dependably in all climates, offering a quiet, cushioned ride and delivering long, trouble-free service. Vehicle suspensions are subjected to less shock and vibration.

Goodyear Engineered Products is now offering 43 timing belt kits with the water pump already included. Another 21 kits are on their way in February. Even better, all kits are eligible for the Gatorback Club – you get 75 points apiece!

Click here to see the full line of new timing belt kits with water pumps or use the “Search for Parts” button on the home page. These kits cover a variety of domestic and import makes, models and applications.

Finally, the convenience of truly all-in-one timing belt kits PLUS a great way to rack up additional Gatorback Club points!

Kit includes:

  • Tensioner
Our tensioners install just like original equipment, because they’re manufactured by the OE supplier. This ease of installation makes it easier to sell to your customers.

  • Timing Belt
We make a wide variety of kits for most cars, trucks, vans and SUVs. Every kit features the only belts officially licensed by NASCAR®

  • Water Pump
Because 90 percent of the labor to change a water pump is already done when changing the timing belt, you can offer your customers the ease and convenience of doing both at the same time.
