University Saves on More Efficient Synchronous Drive Systems
Energy consumption reduced by nearly 6%.

Location:
East Lansing, MI
Situation:
Current System: V-belts
(non-Goodyear brand)
The customer was looking to reduce energy costs of running air handling systems in the agricultural science building of its campus. Running constantly to maintain plant life within the buildings, the fan system consumed a significant amount of energy compared to other on-campus buildings.
Solution:
To test the system and compare costs, the customer ran their current v-belt drive parallel to an Eagle NRG® synchronous drive system. Maintaining the desired fan speed, it was calculated that the Eagle NRG synchronous drive would reduce annual energy consumption within the facility by nearly 6 percent, or an estimated $2,700 per drive, per year.
Real Results:
- Increased Belt Life
- Less Required Maintenance
- Reduced Belt Slippage
- No Lubrication Needed
